Blackhawk.io is ramping up engineering capacity for 2026 following a massive year of R&D achievements in 2025
Our product and engineering teams delivered one of the most ambitious development cycles in Blackhawk.io history.
Major achievements include:
- Launch of the new UI framework — modern, faster, unified, and more scalable (learn more)
- Big performance improvements across all platforms including Track, Link, Machine Connect, and Collect – which are now consolidating under the new NEEDME.com platform (learn more)
- New AI-powered reporting insights across maintenance, utilisation, and safety
- Expansion of the Smart Digital Forms platform, now supporting richer logic, automation, and integrations
- Growth of advanced telematics integrations across BLE, QR, battery GPS, plug-in, and OEM data streams
- Dozens of new features across reporting, admin tools, alerts, mobile apps, and APIs
- Strengthened compliance capabilities, especially for NZ fleet safety and RUC requirements, workplace safety for airline ramp operations.
The engineering team grew significantly this year, with new senior developers joining to support platform growth, enterprise demand, and global scale.
